About the Position:

Distillery is seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining modern web applications using React and Next.js, with a strong emphasis on TypeScript for type safety and scalability. If you have experience in e-commerce, that’s a huge plus! You will work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver high-performing, responsive, and accessible user experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain Next.js and React applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Implement and manage CMS integrations (Sanity or similar) to support content-driven experiences.
  • Utilize A/B testing tools to enhance user engagement and product effectiveness.
  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented TypeScript/JavaScript code, following best practices.
  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and user-friendly designs, working closely with UX/UI designers.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing rendering and load times.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and cross-functional discussions.
  • Work closely with engineering managers, product managers, and engineers across teams to design and develop scalable, high-performing systems.
  • Identify and champion new technologies and design patterns that drive business growth and improve system efficiency.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and development guidelines to enhance consistency and efficiency across teams.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, building dynamic and responsive web applications.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Strong understanding of testing frameworks and best practices in front-end testing.
  • Experience implementing user-centered design principles and creating responsive designs.
  • Proven ability to improve web application performance, reduce load times, and optimize rendering.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, Agile development environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • E-commerce experience is a huge plus!
